No Camping for Me!
October 8, 2006
I really do not think I am meant to go camping. EVER. I have made it 26 and a half years without it, so I may be giving up hope. Second year in a row I missed the crew’s camping trip. Last year because of prior obligations, this year because of being sick. Damn. I did not even make it to work on Friday. So since Thursday I have felt horrible. Blah. The only thing I did this weekend, besides laundry, was leave my house for a bit to just WATCH the baseball game. WATCH. How boring! I mean, not that the game itself was boring, but if given the choice, I would rather be out there. Duh. Oh yeah, and then went to Taco Bell with Cristina. I must say, the worst thing about being sick in Houston is having no family around. Nothing beats having someone take care of you when you are sick, of course. But…the best thing about having such good friends as your substitute family in Houston is that they surprise you and bring you lunch when you are sick and not able to make it to work. They are even kind of pushy and just tell you they are coming over and bringing food. Crazies. And even hang out for a bit. Although I think that was more about how comfortable my couches are compared to their office chairs, right girls?
Anyway…point is, that as miserable as I was, that made my day! And helped me forget about missing another camping trip!
At least I feel well enough at this point to make it to work tomorrow. Thank goodness. I have an event on Tuesday. Which I would not be pulling off at all without Summer’s help. I cannot even count how many times I have had to ask for help with this one, so thank you!
Hope everyone has a good week!
