Vacations are great. Even mini-vacations. Marilyn and I went to San Marcus to shop like crazy people last week. It was a blast. We even went to that Wonder World cave thing in San Marcus…it is small, but super cute. Obviously it does not compare to Carlsbad or Natural Bridge or something, but it was cute enough to warrant the ticket price! They even have a little petting zoo area with baby deer and peacocks. It was precious. We also saw Ocean’s Thirteen…which is completely better than Ocean’s Twelve. Saturday we went into Austin and spent the day with Summer, Daniel and Cary. That was completely festive. And I parallel parked!! Summer and Cristina may be the only ones that understand how big of a deal that is! I did not even have to back in and out multiple times…FIRST try. Whoo-hoo! I bet it never happens again. Usually when we used to go out downtown I would have to get out and let someone else park if we were parking on the street. Hilarious. We had lunch at a cute little hamburger place that was yummy. And then we had sno-cones!! Summer and Daniel found a REAL sno-cone stand. Not one of those Hawaiian Shaved Ice wanna-be places. Haha. And they didn’t charge for cream. Which was strange. I have never seen that before. They were super good. I can’t wait to get back to Austin to have another one. :) Marilyn and I got up early Sunday to make it back for Father’s Day grilling at Bobbie and Herman’s house. That was fun. Good family day!!
All in all…pretty good time off. I didn’t even mind getting up and going to work this morning. :)

I Survived…

Filed under: My Day, Baseball! — Jill @ 8:44 am

…my first Sunday of softball games. It is a miracle. We all know that I am jinxed to get hurt every time I play baseball/softball. I even played first base in the second game and was not involved in any tackles. Haha. I played outfield in the first game…only one ball even came to me, and that was because the shortstop missed it. I managed to pick it up, NOT make a crazy throw, and assist in an out on third. Whoo-hoo. Cristina and I started cracking up when we saw the lineup for the second game. These people don’t know me, so they don’t understand the history of me playing first, nor the trepidation that that causes. Haha. I did take a bad bounce off the leg at one point, but it did not even hurt. Not compared to a baseball, anyway. It was a pretty fun day…even though it was so damn hot. The rest of the weekend was pretty good…even considering the 36 hours I was awake thanks to some allergy medicine Cristina gave me. Wow. That was crazy. Hope everyone had a good weekend!

I met Roy Oswalt….

Anyway…after the Astros’ game on Friday night we went to Wild West. Which is always pretty fun. And there was Roy Oswalt just chillin, talking to some people. Of COURSE I went up to him and acted a fool. :) But come on…when am I ever going to see him again?? Ha. He was VERY VERY nice. And much cuter in person than in pictures. :) The rest of the weekend was pretty good. Was completely lazy on Saturday, but got some stuff done on Sunday. Jenny and I almost forgot to pay rent, which was festive! Then it took me an hour to get to work this morning because of a stupid wreck that had all lanes of 59 blocked. Oh well… Hope everyone has a good week!!
