I was really looking forward to this event this year. Last year’s was so neat…the staff at the Four Seasons definitely goes all out. This year’s theme was Whoville/Grinch, etc. It was too freakin cute. Their hotel manager was even dressed up as the Grinch. Everything had a green hue to it, as you can see from the picture, and the menu items were named appropriately. The dessert was a white chocolate heart box, and it was called “Grinch’s Change of Heart.” TOO FUN. Allyson missed out, but she gets to be in England, so boo on her. Hope everyone is having a good week!

Okay, here is the situation. You walk into a holiday party and see gingerbread houses on each table. Undecorated, prebuilt gingerbread houses, with candy and all the decorations sitting next to it. Please tell me what your first thought would be:

A. YUM

B. Oh yea, an activity

C. Cute centerpieces…

I only ask because this is the situation we walked into on Friday at our staff holiday party. The idea was that each table would decorate their gingerbread house, and be judged by two special guests. The winners received prizes, etc. Well, apparently some people think “YUM” when they see an undecorated, stale gingerbread house sitting in the center of a table. When I got to my table, I noticed that there was a front corner missing on the roof of the house. As well as a chunk of icing from the very top. I also noticed people standing around laughing. That would be because someone ATE THE GINGERBREAD HOUSE. Tell me, people…why the hell would you do that?? Do you REALLY think “dang, that looks GOOD.” I must add that we each had also been given a gingerbread cookie of our very own that was actually for consumption. I guess that was not good enough. Moist, yummy cookie that has been wrapped up doesn’t really compare to a stale gingerbread house that has been sitting out for two days waiting for us to slap some decorations on it. COME ON. I am just amazed at people.

Congratulations, Penny!!

Penny rocks. Her son was born Friday, December 14, 2007…weighing in at JUST 10 lbs, 6 ozs. The woman is a super hero. His name is Jett…so of course we are already exhausting the “Jumbo Jett” phrase. :) He is PRECIOUS. So I am a pseudo-auntie again!! Madi is super excited to be a big sister, too. So congratulations, Penny….even if he does look EXACTLY like Scott!!! More photos of the cutie are in the Photos section…

I never feel like it is actually Christmas time until we have our Elected Official’s Reception. It kind of feels like the last day of school before the break….even though we are still really busy! It is just the Christmas feeling. This year’s was especially festive….we even had a diver in a Santa suit in their fish tank! It rocked. Hope everyone is having a good week! Photos are up…

P.S. Check out the photos of Craig….

I LOVE high school football. With that said, the game we went to last Saturday was the most BORING I have ever been to. I believe the final score for Katy was 42-0….BORING!! Playoff games are supposed to be nailbiters…and maybe go into an overtime or two! Ridiculous. Katy is good, though. They deserved to win. I just was cheering for the other team because I wanted it to be an actual game!! Boo.

Rest of the weekend was good….got to see Kimmie. And talked to Penny. Both are really uncomfortable people. Ha.
