Okay, here is the situation. You walk into a holiday party and see gingerbread houses on each table. Undecorated, prebuilt gingerbread houses, with candy and all the decorations sitting next to it. Please tell me what your first thought would be:
A. YUM
B. Oh yea, an activity
C. Cute centerpieces…
I only ask because this is the situation we walked into on Friday at our staff holiday party. The idea was that each table would decorate their gingerbread house, and be judged by two special guests. The winners received prizes, etc. Well, apparently some people think “YUM” when they see an undecorated, stale gingerbread house sitting in the center of a table. When I got to my table, I noticed that there was a front corner missing on the roof of the house. As well as a chunk of icing from the very top. I also noticed people standing around laughing. That would be because someone ATE THE GINGERBREAD HOUSE. Tell me, people…why the hell would you do that?? Do you REALLY think “dang, that looks GOOD.” I must add that we each had also been given a gingerbread cookie of our very own that was actually for consumption. I guess that was not good enough. Moist, yummy cookie that has been wrapped up doesn’t really compare to a stale gingerbread house that has been sitting out for two days waiting for us to slap some decorations on it. COME ON. I am just amazed at people.
