This is how lazy I am…

The Dallas Cowboys game is on the stupid NFL network tonight. Which I wouldnt even get IF I did still have cable. But I am too lazy to go to my FAVORITE place on Earth to watch it. Yes, that is Jake’s Philly Steaks…my fave place to be in Houston since the grand year of 2005! *sigh* I just want to sit at home in my PJs, relax, wrap some Christmas presents and watch some damn football. But NO. Part of that is because I will be heading to my parents on Wednesday, so I feel the need to enjoy these last few days of quiet in my apartment. Oh well! Maybe I will venture out for the second half. Thank goodness for the ESPN app on my iPhone. At least I can follow the score! GO COWBOYS!

Glee…

I never watched the pilot episode from this summer, and generally thought this show looked goofy, so I avoided it. And it IS goofy….but also AWESOME! Freakin brilliant. :) I am sad that there wont be any new episodes until April, but I like how they wrapped up storylines in the “fall finale.” Loved it!

What I’ve Been Watching…

My Netflix queue has had more TV on DVD slots than movie slots lately.
Shows I have seriously been charmed by lately:

Firefly – MUST see. I cannot believe I missed this when it was on
originally. Although, I am glad in a way because Serenity (the movie)
had time to be made, and it continues and wraps up the storylines very
well. Brilliant! Also brilliant!….Nathan Fillion. The only reason I
started watching this series was really because I loved Nathan as a
bad guy on "Buffy", and he is hilariously charming on the new show
"Castle." Even though I am a Joss Whedon fan, I always managed to
avoid Firefly until the Nathan Fillion thing. Shame on me!

Battlestar Galactica – Not a permanent relationship with me yet. I
have only seen the mini-series so far, but it was mesmerizing.
Literally. I was so engrossed I didn't even realize how much time had
gone by. Very good. Im not so committed that I wont drop it if there
are a few bad episodes, though. Call me fickle. :)

Roswell – I really liked this one, even thought it did get a little
weird towards the end. I probably wont be requesting this one to own
on dvd, because while enjoyable, I didnt like the ending. As much as I
like fantasy, I do tend to want the human interactions/actions to be a
tad realistic. Even if the setting is completely unreal, the people
dont have to be, as well. And having a bunch of 18 year olds drive off
into the sunset and go on the run just seemed a bit much. Not to
mention that Katherine Heigl is one of my least favorite actresses. :)
(and yes, I know technically some of the characters are NOT human.
Whatever. You know what I mean)

Supernatural – Still love this one. Just have been missing it on
Thursdays, so I cant wait for it to be on dvd. From what I can tell,
this season has gotten more dark as it has gone on. Hopefully the
conclusion is a bit more positive and hopeful! Otherwise, four seasons
may be my limit!

GO COWBOYS

1560 had an interview this morning with Michael Irvin…one of my
favorites, of course! :) He wasn't there to talk about the Cowboys, of
course, but I appreciated it anyway! He was talking about a
documentary called "The U" about the University of Miami. I wish I had
ESPN and all its various options…the main thing I miss about not
having cable! Michael Irvin is always hilarious to listen to…no
matter the subject. He just talks and talks and talks! Love it!

Which just leads me to say….GO COWBOYS! :) And poor Texans. :( I
wish they would win out!

Thank goodness I do NOT need surgery. I know that contradicts what I
said before, but what I really didn't want was for it to be something
that needed surgery, but they wanted to try drugs first, etc. Blah.
Turns out I just have damaged cartilage, which can be helped by
physical therapy. I just have to find time for that! Ha!

Also, I spent my Sunday afternoon at Sears spending $600 on new tires
for my car. Yuck. I hate spending money on stuff like that. Just
annoying. Especially since it is Christmas time! But hey….now I can
drive without sliding across the road, right??

Had a dentist appointment this morning. I really don't mind going to
the dentist…I never have cavities (knock on wood) so I appreciate
the just-cleaned feeling. This morning I had a new hygienist who
insisted on talking to me the entire time. One of my biggest
annoyances is a dental hygienist who asks me questions while cleaning
my teeth. I AM UNABLE TO ANSWER SINCE YOUR FINGERS AND TOOLS ARE IN MY
MOUTH. Jeez. How complicated is that?? She was also super rough or
something…my teeth are sore now! But clean and still cavity free. :)
Jay got dad's teeth, so he would be super jealous. Thank goodness I
have Marilyn's! Whew.

Have a great week!

Knee….

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jilly @ 1:50 pm

So after 13 years of having a knee that hurts, I am finally going to a
doctor to see what's up. I had x-rays and a consultation on Monday,
then an MRI on Tuesday, and I find out the results of that tomorrow.
So far I either have bursitis or a meniscus tear. One means drugs, the
other means surgery. Blah! I almost would rather it be the more severe
version, just to get it fixed once and for all. Probably the wrong
preference, I am well aware! I actually had a horrible dream last
night that the MRI shows all kinds of crazy damage to my knee, and
wasnt just something minor. Obviously, more proof that I inherited
Marilyn's drama. *sigh* Either way, we will know for sure tomorrow!
