Last night’s LOST

Im not really sure how I feel about last night’s LOST. It was good…but feels like a stepping stone episode. I do enjoy all the Sun and Jin stuff. But the part that really got to me was when Sayid told fake-Locke “I don’t feel anything. Anger. Happiness. Pain. I don’t feel it anymore.” I actually got tears in my eyes! Poor Sayid. :(

I never thought I would ever say it…

But Apple SUCKS right now. They have enabled book publishers with power over pricing, and have started a serious ripple among retailers and publishers about who should be in control and who should be setting the amounts book sell for. Maybe the fallout will end up being positive for the consumer, but I doubt it!

Crazy Weekend!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jilly @ 9:25 am

Busy or not, eclectic weekends are the best, and I definitely had one of those! Check out this list: sushi, bowling, college baseball, drag queen show, birthday party, laundry and LOST on dvd! (I added that last one in because it is my latest obsession)

Definitely good times! Although I did break off an entire nail while bowling. I hadnt bowled since my birthday party when I was 7! But I may have been 10…I keep wanting to say it was my 5th grade party. Whatever….it was a LONG time ago. And I got a 95 in my second game! Mick was playing around until he realized that I had a chance at beating him, so once he got serious he kicked my butt, of course. I shall get you next time!!

The drag show was interesting…but not as exciting as it could have been. The emcees kept talking too freakin much. So it got boring at parts.

Michele’s birthday was a ton of fun, though. Always fun with Vega at the club! Ha! Fun times with Esmer and Blanca and Boogie and David, too! And her husband bought her a car for her birthday…you cant beat that. Im just sad I left without getting a cupcake. Boo. BUT…I was good and bypassed my after-the-club meal of Whataburger breakfast. I was very proud of myself!

Sunday I ran errands and had breakfast at Fountainview Cafe. I love that place! It was just really slow yesterday for some reason. Seemed like they were missing a cook in the back or something. But once I got my food it was delish!

The rest of the day was spent catching up on laundry and watching LOST on dvd. If Kevin reads this he will flip out that I havent watched The Wire yet. It is next, I swear! Im on the third season of LOST. I think 3 was my least favorite, but I am enjoying it more the second time around. I hadnt realized that until I started watching the dvds, I had only seen all these episodes just the one time when they aired. Definitely shows how they stick with you – I remember all sorts of details of things that happened, even after that one viewing. Sign of great writing and acting, in my opinion!

Speaking of LOST….that Richard Alpert episode was AMAZING. I loved that it just stuck with him and told his story, instead of going back and forth. Although the scenes where he was trapped in the ship after it crashed were a little slow. Made it seem like they didnt have enough story to fill the entire episode. Which is just crazy talk. Also, I do not agree with all the crazies on the internet who are trying to compare Ricardo and Isabella to Penny and Desmond. Come ON. Penny and Desmond are a great love story! We just saw the Isabella chick for ONE episode. So get over it people! You arent invested in her at all….you saw her, she coughed, she died! Jeez.

Sleep!!

WEIRD

I woke up today and my knees werent hurting. Maybe my GNC products are working! We shall test this theory by running again today. Hmm.

Ebooks…

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jilly @ 12:08 pm

I have noticed that ebook pricing follows hardcover/paperback pricing. That means that on the day a hardcover book comes out, the price is usually between $10 and $20. The ebook on the same day is ALSO between $10 and $20. Then when the paperback version is released, that price is $7.99. And the ebook pricing is usually about $6.39. FOR THE SAME EXACT FILE. So come on people….dont buy Ebooks on the same day as hardcover releases! You are being super cheated!

I forgot yesterday to put this up….

I was sick!

BUT….HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUMMER!!!! We are both 30 now. :)

I hope you had a great birthday celebration this past weekend! I know I had a good time!

I finally finished Battlestar Galactica…

And I have to say, after seeing the entire series, what I thought was a good series finale has turned into a disappointment! I have to agree with the people that hated it at the time…it was a letdown. Very anti-climatic. Overall I truly enjoyed the show…I just dont know if it is the type of thing that makes it into my tv-on-dvd shelf at home. A little too intense for casual viewing. But still amazing. Im still in awe of the writing and the acting.

March Madness is here….

Although I dont get into basketball much, especially not college basketball, I filled out a bracket at work. As one of my friends would say, this is a boring rectangle sport and it sucks. :)   So we shall see if I get ANY of these correct!  I only changed it 3 or 4 times, as opposed to the football one where I did at least 6 versions!
P.S. I could not make the picture rotate. I do realize it is sideways!
