Busy or not, eclectic weekends are the best, and I definitely had one of those! Check out this list: sushi, bowling, college baseball, drag queen show, birthday party, laundry and LOST on dvd! (I added that last one in because it is my latest obsession)
Definitely good times! Although I did break off an entire nail while bowling. I hadnt bowled since my birthday party when I was 7! But I may have been 10…I keep wanting to say it was my 5th grade party. Whatever….it was a LONG time ago. And I got a 95 in my second game! Mick was playing around until he realized that I had a chance at beating him, so once he got serious he kicked my butt, of course. I shall get you next time!!
The drag show was interesting…but not as exciting as it could have been. The emcees kept talking too freakin much. So it got boring at parts.
Michele’s birthday was a ton of fun, though. Always fun with Vega at the club! Ha! Fun times with Esmer and Blanca and Boogie and David, too! And her husband bought her a car for her birthday…you cant beat that. Im just sad I left without getting a cupcake. Boo. BUT…I was good and bypassed my after-the-club meal of Whataburger breakfast. I was very proud of myself!
Sunday I ran errands and had breakfast at Fountainview Cafe. I love that place! It was just really slow yesterday for some reason. Seemed like they were missing a cook in the back or something. But once I got my food it was delish!
The rest of the day was spent catching up on laundry and watching LOST on dvd. If Kevin reads this he will flip out that I havent watched The Wire yet. It is next, I swear! Im on the third season of LOST. I think 3 was my least favorite, but I am enjoying it more the second time around. I hadnt realized that until I started watching the dvds, I had only seen all these episodes just the one time when they aired. Definitely shows how they stick with you – I remember all sorts of details of things that happened, even after that one viewing. Sign of great writing and acting, in my opinion!
Speaking of LOST….that Richard Alpert episode was AMAZING. I loved that it just stuck with him and told his story, instead of going back and forth. Although the scenes where he was trapped in the ship after it crashed were a little slow. Made it seem like they didnt have enough story to fill the entire episode. Which is just crazy talk. Also, I do not agree with all the crazies on the internet who are trying to compare Ricardo and Isabella to Penny and Desmond. Come ON. Penny and Desmond are a great love story! We just saw the Isabella chick for ONE episode. So get over it people! You arent invested in her at all….you saw her, she coughed, she died! Jeez.
