Additional Eeyore-ness….

A fire alarm went off today in our building, and floors 8, 9 and 10 had to go stand by the stairwell for further instructions. In my role as safety coordinator, I had gone around the corner to ask the firefighters if we needed to continue evacuating, or just stay where we are….and as I was coming back around the corner the carpet tripped me and I fell down in front of everybody! *sigh* Not even surprising, really. It was pretty freakin hilarious! I wish I had seen it. Im one of those people that laughs hysterically when people fall. :) Even myself! Maybe I need to say I am hoping to SURVIVE the week…literally. Not just make it to the end! Man.

Eeyore is BACK….seriously

Ive been doing pretty good on the clumsy/Eeyore front. I know I had gone a few weeks without doing anything random, stupid, clumsy, etc. But then April started to end….and Eeyore is BACK.

So far:

- Tripped getting out of my car at the Omni and ended up in valet with one shoe on.
- Same day: Opened up a GHP office door really quickly…until I realized I had slammed the thing onto my foot. That hurt the rest of the day!
- Pushed my sunglasses off my head when I entered the garage. Then almost wrecked because they were my actually GLASSES and I could not see a damn thing
- Dropped my iPhone down 3 flights of metal stairs in the garage and could do nothing but watch it happen.
- Noticed several new bruises on my legs from running into the door to my office

I was actually thinking I was doing well on the clumsiness front…I mean, Jorge and I completed a 5K this past weekend with no trips/falls/stumbles! Jeez. I can run a mile, but cant walk across my office.

Apparently I come by this naturally, though…I hear that Ronnie fell down in IAH, and Marilyn left her purse in the parking lot shuttle. :) Maybe it is genetic!

5K….

So I may have a new obsession. I had a BLAST at my first 5K this past weekend. Even if Jorge and I walked at some points. :) We just couldnt breathe! My body wasnt even tired that day, or even sore the next day, but my allergies were so bad I literally couldnt suck in enough oxygen to keep going. It was nuts. But…we did finish under the time we wanted, because we knew we would have to walk. Ive already signed up for the Astros 5K on May 29! How could I NOT, right??

P.S. Summer also MADE me sign up for the Longhorn 10K this Saturday. ;) I think I may suggest we walk the first half and then run the second, so that way we can finish running. And there is no way in hell I can run a 10K if I cant run a full 5K! Im just smart enough to work that piece of logic. No matter what though, it will be fun! You get to end in the football stadium, and you have to wear a burnt orange Longhorn shirt. I bet the photos are amazing.

I cant wait to be in Austin with My Summer this weekend! Be nice to get out of Houston.

My Monday….

Not starting this week off too well. This weekend was really good, though.

Friday night included a trip to the Greyhound Park….so much fun. I left with as much money as I started with, so that is pretty good. Especially since I was picking dogs based on their names…literally no other factor was considered. Ha!

Saturday I ran errands than had dinner with the family. Cafe Adobe…..always!

Sunday included HBU baseball and then time in the office. But that’s okay….I got a ton of stuff done!

I just have to survive until this event on Wednesday!

Week….

Happy Friday! This week has been super long. Monday was Opening Day, which was a blast. Tuesday I was off so I ran errands and then had dinner with one of my favorite people on the planet, Norma Buxkemper. Wednesday was super chaotic because I was helping Blanca get ready for State of the City on Thursday. Which means Thursday was just exhausting, as all event days are. Blanca rocked it, though! And today is the dog park! Whoo hoo!

Opening Day!

My first Opening Day experience was a SUPER DUPER one, I must say. I headed over to MMP around 3 to check out fanfest…lots of goodies. (BAD cover band!) I just love watching all the people walking around. Unfortunately, I could not find my Astros shirt, so I was not looking like a true fan!

Only bad thing about the game: The Astros LOST. Boooo…

Scott is definitely in the lead now! I must note that this is the first and only time Scott has been in the lead since we have been keeping “score.” Just a fact! :)

I found this on my desk today….
