I wish people in their cars had more common sense. A man today almost rear-ended me because he wasnt paying attention that all the cars in front of him were STOPPED at a red light. I mean, screeching tires, the swerve, the whole bit to avoid hitting me. Then when we get to the left turn to continue on the feeder of 59, cars are kind enough to wait to make sure they will make it through the intersection before they go ahead and go….that way they dont block the oncoming traffic once the light turns. I did this as well when it was my turn, but this moron behind me started laying on his horn! Okay…first off, you almost HIT ME, and then you have the audacity to sit behind me and honk your horn when I am following proper and polite traffic procedures! He then swerved around me and went and CUT IN LINE to get on the freeway. Dude. Why cant people have some common sense and sense of propriety???

As his lovely family, we got to walk out with Jay on HBU Senior Day. I thought this was more important than actual graduation…I mean, it is BASEBALL! Ha! In our family that is equal to a diploma. It was a very nice, short little pre-game ceremony.  And I didnt pass out, even though Ive been so sick! And I managed to watch enough of the game to watch Jay pitch a few innings….he did awesome! The five seniors received framed pics of them playing…

Ah….I can relax and stop obsessively checking my B&N; account every five minutes. The book is here! Whoo hoo! After running today I anticipate a couple hours of reading to complete it.

As strange as it may be, I have to admit that I LOVE pageants. Always have. And I have no idea why! Well, that is a lie, I do know why….I love the dresses and the dumb answers to questions and the whole thing! It is so dramatic. I used to go spend the night at Holli Nash’s house in school to watch pageants. We were obsessed. I had forgotten about that until I was watching last night. Such memories!

I didnt watch ALL of the Miss USA pageant last night, but I picked Oklahoma from the get-to. I havent lost my touch….she was first runner-up! Her dress was fabulous!

Im having a yummy food day today. For breakfast I had a yummy apple cinnamon organic waffle with all natural peanut butter added to the top. This is Summer’s creation that she MADE me try in Austin. Minus the apple cinnamon part. But I was out of regular waffles. Ha! Im hooked. Perfect mix of salty and sweet. Plus, Summer tells me this is a good way to have some protein. I totally believe her. I just know it is a yummy breakfast treat.

For lunch Cristina and I had sushi at Aka. Once she finally arrived. *sigh* Aka is over in the Upper Kirby area, and I get a text from Cristina that says “Im almost there. On Smith.” Which meant she had gone from the 610 West area over to downtown! Goofball. Somehow she thought when I said Aka, I really meant Azuma. Which is even funnier because we both know I hate that place. Once we finally were in the same restaurant, lunch was super yummy!

P.S. I tried to see how many times I could use the word “yummy.” Which says a lot for me because I despise redundancy.

This is how my Saturday started….I got up, took a shower, and started getting dressed. I needed to be at my aunt’s house at 10 for graduation pictures. Marilyn had said she MIGHT want to do this, so I figured I better be prepared in case that was really the plan. At 9:38 I get a text that says “Where are you???” Jeez. Marilyn had decided 9:30 was the picture time instead of the “10 or so” she had told me! So of course I was LATE. Which is something I never am. She still swears that she told me 9:30. Which makes me bring up the aforementioned detail of I AM NEVER LATE. SO if she had told me 9:30, I would have been there at 9:30!! *sigh*

Anyway….graduation day! Whoo hoo! The HBU ceremony was quite nice. They only had about 80 people in the second ceremony, so it went by rather quickly. One thing that HBU does that I know SHSU, at least, does not do is give bachelor degree candidates hoods. That was weird. But they have time for it, so why not! The first stop each graduate makes is to be hooded, then shake hands with the president, then the diploma. The auditorium was nice, as well. We got really good seats, and Jay could have touched us when he walked in because they walked in so close to us.

After the ceremony we took a few more pictures and then jumped in the car to drive down to Edinburg. HBU baseball had been down there since Friday playing a series of four games, so we had to bring Jay to meet up with the team. Far! We shouldnt have made it in time for either of the two games HBU was playing that day, but since they let up 10 runs in the second, the game was a little longer than it should have been! We made it in the 5th inning of the second game, just in time to watch them come back and win it. Much more exciting than any of the games I watched last year!

This exercise thing is going pretty well. Thanks to the gym at the hotel this weekend, I was able to keep it up. I took a rest day yesterday, but today is run day! And Wednesday is Zumba. Thursday Jorge and I may branch out with roller blades. We shall see! Variety is the key. And I am well on my way to being able to buy my book I want on release day. Cross my fingers!

Arent here. Marilyn apparently doesnt have time to email me any of them because she had to enter grades, but she had time to flit about on facebook! Grrrrr.

That is my newest decision. I dont know what his deal is! He is nice to everyone around me, but he is determined to take a chunk of skin off of me. Tries to bite me at random times. My parents stayed in my apartment last weekend, and he was apparently a sweet kitty. And they dont even really like cats! Sunday I had only been home for 30 minutes, and he tried to chew my kneecap off. *sigh* Anyone want a cat with issues?? Where is a cat whisperer when I need one!!??

I very much work on the bribery/incentive system. And by that I mean that I bribe myself to do things! No shame in my game. Anyway….there is a book being released on May 25 that I have been PATIENTLY WAITING FOR, FOR A DAMN YEAR. Ummm…..okay, maybe NOT so patient. Hmm. The point is….there are 20 days until the release date, and Ive decided that unless I work out for 15 of those 20 days, I am not allowed to have the book on release date! Whew. I think that is a pretty good one. Let’s see if I can do it! Counting today as day 1…and release date as day 20.
