At some points he had us laughing so hard we had tears trying to come out of our eyes, and then in others we were teary-eyed for different reasons - like when he talked about Mary Lou. It was great! There are more photos in the photo section. I, of course, had to remind Marilyn about how I never did get the Mary Lou leotard for gymnastics when I was five. *sigh* So deprived! :P

Texas Conference for Women…

This was AWESOME. I randomly got to go to this yesterday at the George R. Brown, and it was great! Once I got there and saw the flow of the day I was upset I had missed part of the morning. Even though I missed it because I was being productive and working at the office! Ha! I already want to go next year. The funniest part is that I found out last night that my dad had been at the GRB for a meeting the entire day!

P.S. The Rays were embarrassing last night!! Come ON. They deserved that loss.

Post-event…

Whew. My event with the Gov is over. FINALLY. Today was a super long day. I didn’t even get to eat until 2:30. It went well on the outside, though, which is what counts. :) I also ran into a fellow Warren high grad…Adam, who is on the governor’s staff. Pretty random!

Okay, it is only Wednesday…hope we all survive the rest of the week!!

Cowboys Thanksgiving game…

I need someone to explain to me why the JONAS BROTHERS are going to be playing during halftime of the Cowboys Thanksgiving game!! COME ON. Of all the musical acts in the world, I have to sit through the Jonas Brothers?? I don’t get it.

Football…

The Texans finally win, but the Cowboys lose…BOOOOOO. And Romo broke his pinky and will be out for four weeks!!! Sucks. I hope he can play in the Thanksgiving game!!

Congrats to the Texans, though…

Electricity!

Filed under: Home — Jill @ 1:16 pm

The parents have electricity in Warren. :) Awesome!

Ok, idiots…

Filed under: Home — Jill @ 8:07 pm

Please pay attention to the red lights. This is not rocket science. If the red light does not have any LIGHTS showing….STOP before proceeding through the intersection!! Man. I almost got hit by two different people today that were just cruising on through an intersection on my way to work. Then I came across a three car wreck right outside of our garage. COMMON SENSE PEOPLE. It is like people get lights in their homes and just assume all of Houston is back to normal. For all of you non-idiots out there….BE CAREFUL!

Gas update…

Filed under: Home — Jill @ 1:26 pm

When I am driving around it seems that more and more gas stations are open. I was able to fill up my tank this morning at Weslayan and 59. That station actually had people out directing you where to go, so it was very orderly. Even if there isn’t an employee in the lot, come on people! Just wait in line patiently for your turn! I have seen some nutty things the past few days. People acting like idiots. Also, be careful of the red lights! Not all of them are even blinking red, so sometimes they are harder to see. I almost got to see a wreck closer to my house. At least I have electricity now, even though my living room smells like mildew thanks to my wet carpet!

 Stay safe!!!!

Happy Birthday…

Filed under: Home — Jill @ 1:14 pm

Today is my dad’s birthday! Not that he is probably having a very good time…trying to keep generators going and deal with the aftermath of Ike. Just hope they don’t run out of water. That would be a really bad birthday present. The Eagles are already got postponed!

So…Happy Birthday Daddy!
