The Soiree this year was GREAT. I must say, we all looked awesome with our matching outfits! Even though I didn’t really want to say I was a stewardess. Ha. I had to keep telling myself we were supposed to be from the 40’s and 50’s, so not to be so feminist.  I am adding more photos as I collect them from people, but mine are already in the Photos section. Kristin keeps saying it felt boring, but all of the staff so far seemed to have a GOOD time. There were definitely more people on the dance floor after 11:30 than last year. Last year it was just about five of us! All staff! So sad. More people also went to Monarch this year, too, so that was fun. The only thing I wish I hadn’t missed were all the dancers. I really wanted to see the Celtic girls. Their costumes were great…so much detail. The guys all liked the belly dancers, of course! I may have to get Cristina to go with me to that class at 24 Hour Fitness. The way they move is so weird. I stole some of Jorge’s photos…his were so gorgeous! Always does such a great job, especially since events like this don’t have much lighting to work with.

So it has been decided that I jinx the Astros. To which I say, oh well! After winning their games Friday and Saturday, they got shut out on Sunday when I was in attendance. Ha.

Congrats to Summer….she will be starting a new job soon! I am very excited for her! She deserves it!

Cristina also got a new position at her company…so congrats to her, too!

This weekend was good…busy, but not overly so. Friday was a ton of fun…a group of people for late-night sushi. Poor Christine…she got out-sushied by Lauren and Jose. But at least she and Jason could admit it.

I don’t really have much to say….this weekend was a lot of fun. Jenny’s birthday party was on Friday, and I am fairly certain she had a blast. Saturday just hung out with friends…SUMMER! I mainly wanted my car to not be in the top spot anymore. Ha! I don’t have any more pictures of it anyway!

I do have one random comment….anyone that thinks golf is boring should have been watching the end of the U.S. Open today. OMG. That was AWESOME. Everyone in my living room got so loud you would have thought we won the lottery. GO TIGER.

I never feel like it is actually Christmas time until we have our Elected Official’s Reception. It kind of feels like the last day of school before the break….even though we are still really busy! It is just the Christmas feeling. This year’s was especially festive….we even had a diver in a Santa suit in their fish tank! It rocked. Hope everyone is having a good week! Photos are up…

There are so many birthdays in December…starting with Theresa’s! We celebrated that one at Absinthe last Friday…I hope she had a good time! So Happy Birthday to Theresa….and Jessica….and Erin….and Brandi….and Scott….and super early Birthday wishes to CRISTINA!

I think that makes six times. Or seven. Who even knows at this point!! I did manage to keep her from cheating and stealing it from anyone…like she did at Jorge’s wedding! This time she caught it outright. Haha. The wedding reception was fun….Serena looked pretty and happy and everyone was having a good time. I was really glad I went. Blanca’s family is fun…..and funny! Haha. Pictures are up in the Photo section…

Hope everyone had a good weekend! Mine was good….super busy. Friday going out, Saturday baseball and going out to Serena’s bachelorette party, Sunday shopping and a movie. The only problem with being so busy is that the time goes by too quickly! I can’t believe it is already almost time to be at the office. BOOO. I managed to get a TINY bit of sun on Saturday playing baseball. But it is practically already faded back to white! I went to see “Elizabeth: The Golden Age,” which was a GREAT movie. Even though everyone knows the story of the defeat of the Spanish Armada, I was still on the edge of my seat watching it. Awesome. Cate Blanchett rocks that role of Elizabeth I.

Summer and Daniel were in town this weekend, which is always festive. We all went to the Greek Festival on Saturday, which rocks because it is all about the food and drinks. It was crazy humid, but still a lot of fun. Just got super crowded at the end, so I didn’t mind leaving when we did. After that Summer had a birthday party to go to (OF COURSE) and I tagged along. Some place called Swivel in Midtown. I love how Summer does not even live here anymore, yet she knows all the new/good places to go. Cracks me up. It was a pretty good day! We were even good and came home early because we both had to get up this morning. I was on my way to the Texans game, which ROCKED. I had never been before, so just going was a good thing… then it was even better because we were in one of the “party suites.” Needless to say, it was awesome. The game was good, too. It came down to the very end and a winning field goal on our side…even though it should not have been that close. Oh well. Who cares! At least it was a win. And I didn’t declare my Cowboys’ loyalty, so I managed to NOT get beaten up. Haha. One cool part was where they actually had the real guys from those Budweiser, “real men of genius”, commercials come out and sing a song about Houston. It was weird to see the faces with the voices. Of course, some of the people that were with us would say that the best part was the cheerleaders. Men! So predictable!

Friday was sad because it was Esmeralda’s last day. It is hard to think about the PPGs being without her! She is going to do great things, though, so I wish her the best! We will definitely miss you, Esmer!! What started off as an innocent goodbye happy hour ended up with a trip to Louisiana and the casino. I know…crazy, right?? I had never even been to Louisiana for gambling before. New Orleans, once, but never a casino. It was a blast. Apparently Vanessa has quite the obsession with the gambling. Especially the dollar slots. They call her name. Or something. I really thought she had lost a ton of money until we asked her exactly how much she had played and she responded “two twenties.” I can do math and that is only forty dollars. Which meant she had only lost ten! Haha. It was hilarious. Theresa and I were definitely the big winners. I call that beginner’s luck on my part. I never win anything, so I am sure it will not happen again!! The best part was that nobody believed us about where we were going. Or didn’t listen. I should have known something was up when I called Jenny to tell her where I would be and got no reaction. She called back two hours later freaking out and asking if I was going to Louisiana….she had thought I was going to a CLUB called “Casino.” Haha. Awesome. Vanessa and Theresa had pretty much the same reactions from people they called…a secondary phone conversation with many “What??s” Hope everyone had a good weekend!!

It was a blast. Many extra hours at the office, but Kristin did a great job and everything came together and looked great. People really seemed to enjoy themselves! It is always a blast with all the volunteers…kind of a party within the party. Summer and Daniel even came in from Austin to help out and attend. So good to see My Summer!  The event itself was really neat…I was surprised at how many people dressed up in their “culturally chic” attire. And each room was decorated beautifully. The passport system was a big hit…mainly because you got to take your photo for it, just as you would for a normal passport. Wish I could trade those pictures out. My real passport photo is jacked up! Anyway…it was a really long, but good night! Hope everyone else had a good weekend as well! Pictures are up…
